Rennes are nearing a move to sign Cercle Brugge winger Kazeem Olaigbe (22), according to Ouest-France and Foot Mercato. A total agreement between the clubs and the player is reportedly well-advanced. Rennes are in the market for a left-sided winger as they parted ways with Jota, who returned to Celtic FC, and Amine Gouiri this Friday. The Algeria international joined Les Phocéens in a €22m deal.
Olaigbe has registered eight goals and one assist in 31 appearances so far this season with the Conference League-playing Belgian Pro League outfit. The former Southampton FC youth product is tied with Cercle Brugge over a contract set to expire in 2027. Rennes have been particularly proactive in the winter transfer window so far. Les Rouge et Noir have signed Al-Nassr midfielder Seko Fofana, Lens goalkeeper Brice Samba, Celtic centre-forward Kyogo Furuhashi and Brest centre-back Lilian Brassier. Rennes will host Strasbourg this Sunday.
