Chelsea are monitoring the progress of Brighton’s Georgino Rutter and have added him to their shortlist according to reports.
As has been the case since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Captial took over it’s set to be another busy transfer window for the Blues.
Chelsea are looking to sign a striker, centre back and right footed attacker, and could look to sell as many as seven or eight players in order to fund moves.
The Blues have been linked with a number of players as they look to reinforce their attacking options, and they are said to be in pole position to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens.
Chelsea are believed to be in direct competition with Manchester United for Liam Delap, and Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg has now revealed another name they are interested in.

He took to X.com and said:
“Excl | Chelsea are closely monitoring the development of Georginio #Rutter and have added him to their shortlist for the next transfer windows.
“#CFC The 22-y/o versatile forward is currently out with a foot injury but has had a strong season with Brighton, scoring eight goals and providing four assists. One to watch. Contract until 2028.”
Rutter only joined Brighton last summer from Leeds United and the 22-year-old has eight goals and five assists in 34 appearances in all competitions this season.
It was reported Chelsea made a late enquiry about Rutter in the January window, and it appears there’s a chance they could explore that interest again in the summer.

Rutter is predominantly a centre forward, who can also play as a second striker and a right winger, although he’s currently out with an injury and not expected back until next month.
Chelsea and Brighton are no strangers and have done a lot of business in recent windows with the Blues signing Robert Sanchez, Moises Caicedo and Marc Cucurella, whilst they’ve also taken directors and Graham Potter from the Seagulls.
