A report in the Italian press reveals the impact of the new Yann Bisseck contract on the Inter Milan finances.
On Friday, the club announced that the 23-year-old has signed a contract extension, pushing back the deadline from June 2028 to the summer of 2029.
Moreover, the Germany U21 star earned a pay rise, taking his net salary from 750,000 euros to 1.5 million per year.
Calcio e Finanza examines the impact of the operation on the club’s balance sheet.
First of all, we should point out that Bisseck first signed for the Nerazzurri in the summer of 2023, completing a move for Aarhus for a transfer fee of 7.2 million euros.
The defender initially penned a five-year deal, so his amortization cost was split over five financial years.
So last season, the player cost the club 2.45 million euros between amortization and gross wages.
But after penning a new deal and earning a pay rise, Bisseck’s new gross wages should reach circa 1.9 million. The source notes that Inter are still taking advantage of the Growth Decree in this particular case.
And while his gross salary has increased, his amortization cost will decrease with the new contract. That’s because his transfer fee will be now spread over a longer period (until 2029 instead of 2028).
So if the new contract takes effect immediately, Bisseck will cost Inter 2.84 million euros this season (again between gross salary and amortization cost).
Moreover, this figure will rise to circa 3.1 million euros starting next season. That’s because his improved salary will be in effect from the very start of the campaign.
