Revealed: Omar Marmoush arrives in Manchester with City medical scheduled for Tuesday | OneFootball

Manchester City have welcomed Omar Marmoush to the city for a medical with the club on Tuesday, it can be revealed.

The Premier League champions are understood to have reached a total agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt for the transfer of their stand-out player of the ongoing season, in a clear sign of intent from City officials.

After 15 goals and 10 assists in his 17 Bundesliga appearances this season alone, Marmoush was quickly identified by Manchester City staff as the number one priority to bolster their attacking ranks for the remainder of the campaign and future.

After consecutive days and weeks of conversations between the two clubs, it is widely understood that City have sanctioned an investment in the region of €75 million to bring Marmoush to the club as part of their squad rebuild.

The Egyptian international also bid farewell to his Eintracht Frankfurt teammates and supporters of the high-flying Bundesliga club last Friday, after they had confirmed before kick-off against Borussia Dortmund that the player would not feature in their squad.

Now, according to the information of The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath, Omar Marmoush is set to undergo a medical at Manchester City on Tuesday as part of the final stages of his switch from Bundesliga football.

City Xtra can also now reveal that Marmoush, alongside his representatives, arrived in the north-west of England on Monday evening, touching down at Manchester Airport from Frankfurt shortly after 19:30 (UK).

The 25-year-old is currently expected to be the third arrival into Pep Guardiola’s squad this month in order of official announcements, after Abdukodir Khusanov became the first formal unveiling on Monday evening.

Fellow central defensive recruit Vitor Reis is widely expected to be the second player to be formally unveiled by Manchester City in the next 24 hours, after arriving from Palmeiras in a deal worth in the region of £30 million.

Following the official welcoming of Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt, it remains to be seen whether there will be any further business from Manchester City. However, the club remain open to the idea of bringing in a new defensive midfielder.

Juventus’ Douglas Luiz is one name mentioned in various quarters, however it is believed that City would only be wanting the Brazilian international on a short-term loan deal, while the Italian club want either a permanent sale this month, or a loan with obligation to buy.
