Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini is linked with a shock summer transfer to Inter Milan at the end of the season.
Today’s Rome-based edition of the Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews, report that Pellegrini is unlikely to leave Roma in January. However, he will depart in the summer, and Inter are the “probable” destination.
Pellegrini’s situation at Roma has become difficult this season.
The Italian international is currently the Giallorossi captain. However, Pellegrini is no longer a regular starter at Roma. This despite being the club’s captain.
Pellegrini has made nearly three hundred appearances for Roma since joining from Sassuolo in 2017.
However, in a season which has seen several changes in coach at the Stadio Olimpico, Pellegrini has fallen out of favour.
Current Giallorossi coach Claudio Ranieri has clearly not seen Pellegrini as a starter.
Pellegrini’s plummet down the pecking order has led to rumours that he could leave the Italian capital as early as next month.
But according to the Rome-based edition of the Corriere della Sera, Pellegrini will not exit during the January transfer window.
However, the newspaper reports, a summer transfer looks very likely.
And the Corriere della Sera name one club in particular as likely suitors for Pellegrini. They anticipate that Inter are the “probable” destination for the Roma captain.
