Talks between Roma and LaLiga side Real Betis over a potential deal for midfielder Enzo Le Fee are progressing according to reports on Friday, as Roma look to cut their losses on their underwhelming summer signing.
Le Fee joined Roma in July for a fee in the region of €23m, however, after going through three different coaches within the first six months of his Giallorossi career, Le Fee has already fallen out of favour and is unlikely to be kept on by current boss Claudio Ranieri.
According to Friday’s reports from Calciomercato.com, Real Betis have stepped forwards with a proposal to sign Le Fee on loan with an option to buy.
Friday’s report suggests that talks are progressing smoothly and that an agreement between the two clubs could potentially be reached within a week.
The Spanish side had originally been looking at the possibility of signing Arthur Melo from Juventus on a similar loan deal, but the Brazilian’s hefty wage packet was considered too high, which has forced Betis to look elsewhere.
Coincidentally, if Roma manage to offload Le Fee, they could turn to Arthur themselves in order to plug their midfield gap until the end of the 2024-25 season.
