Ruben Amorim hailed Rasmus Hojlund's match-winning impact in Manchester United's 3-2 triumph over Bodo/Glimt on Thursday but admitted the Dane still needs to improve his link-up play.
Despite dominating both possession and shots on goal, United made hard work of Bodo/Glimt and had to come from 2-1 down, with Hojlund netting twice to hand Amorim the first win of his Old Trafford tenure.
After the game, Amorim did not shy away from praising Hojlund but warned the 21-year-old that there are still areas of his game in which he needs to improve.
"I think he needs to improve the connection, I think he has to improve more because sometimes he gives too many touches when he holds the ball," Amorim told his post-match press conference. "But he is very important for us because, when we are in the low block, he is the guy to hold the ball and connect for transitions. He did that very well.
"He has those characteristics. He was aggressive in the goals, he was aggressive in the box. And he is a quality player. I think he scores the most difficult goals so he has a lot to improve. But he did a great job."

Hojlund later told MUTV that he was enjoying life under the new United head coach, whose formation could end up bringing the best out of him.
"New system, new ideas and I think we made a step in the right direction today, but obviously it's going to take some time but it's three points at home, which is good," he said.
"I think the idea is getting a little bit under the skin, but it needs to take time because the new manager has just come in. We work very hard on the training pitch and we've not had any days off. For me personally, the style suits me very well and I'm very happy the new boss is here.
"I think we're still in the process of learning this new system and obviously there are players who have to play in different positions that they've been used to and new roles for different players."
