Anass Salah-Eddine spoke to ESPN about his decision to join Roma in the final days of the January transfer window.

The Dutchman completed a move to the Italian capital after a falling out with Twente.

“When Roma came forward, I immediately understood that I absolutely wanted to take that step,” he said.

“It was the best choice I could have made for myself.”

The young Dutchman then spoke about how difficult it was to miss his last game with Twente due to his imminent move to Italy.

“I slept and ate very badly. In the morning I spoke to coach Joseph Oosting. During the conversation he immediately saw the state I was in and started to wonder if it was really a good idea to let me play.”

“I wanted to give everything for the team and the club, so I said I would try.”

“But on the journey to Deventer I wasn’t feeling well and my teammates suggested that it would be wiser not to play. It was difficult for me to accept that, because I wanted to give my all. The club also knew that and in the end we made a shared decision.”
