“Same Old, Same Old” – More Wasteful Finishing & Complacency From Inter Milan In 1-0 Serie A Loss Vs Juventus | OneFootball

There was more wasteful finishing and complacency from the Nerazzurri as Juventus beat Inter Milan 1-0 In Serie A.

That’s the view in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They argue that it was the “same old, same old” from Inter.

For the third time this season, Inter Milan have slumped to defeat in Serie A.

And unlike in losses against AC Milan and Fiorentina, this wasn’t necessarily the result of the Nerazzurri being second best for ninety minutes.

In the first half in particular, Inter showed their strength. They outclassed Juventus, and created more and better chances.

But that counted for nothing, as the Nerazzurri were unable to find the back of the net with any of the opportunities that they had.

The Bianconeri, on the other hand, were clinical under the spotlight. Randal Kolo Muani and Francisco Conceicao combined to sink Inter’s ship.

In the view of the Gazzetta, none of this was too much of a surprise.

Inter’s problem this season has rarely been an inability to dominate matches as they had done in the first half against Juventus yesterday.

Rather, the Nerazzurri have at times struggled to capitalize on their best period.

The most dangerous situations that Inter Milan created fizzled out, with a lack of ruthlessness in the final third evident – in stark contrast to the attitude on Juventus’s goal.

Moreover, once Inter’s best period had passed, the team looked lost, the Gazzetta argue.

Inter seemed to be under the impression that they would be able to simply wait for the match to go their way after such a strong match.

And that allowed a hungry, aggressive Juventus to take control in the second half.
