Inter star players will be back in Simone Inzaghi’s starting XI after resting against Arsenal as they host Napoli in a Serie A top-of-the-table clash before the international break.
It kicks off at 20:45 CET (19.45 GMT) at San Siro in Milan.
The Nerazzurri played the London outfit mid-week in the Champions League with a heavily rotated formation, and coach Inzaghi hopes the condition of Alessandro Bastoni, Marcus Thuram, Nicolò Barella and Federico Dimarco can benefit from their recent shift off, as they’re all expected to start.
Francesco Acerbi should also make his return, replacing centre-back Stephan De Vrij.
Hakan Calhanoglu will be confirmed as a playmaker for his third appearance in seven days since returning from injury, while there are still doubts as to whether midfielder Stanislav Lobotka will be deemed fit enough to get a start for Napoli, as Sky Sport Italia reports that Billy Gilmour still look favoured to begin in that position.
Antonio Conte should opt for his consolidated 4-3-3 formation, with former Nerazzurri players Matteo Politano and Romelu Lukaku starting in the attacking trio, alongside Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Scott McTominay will play in the midfield line, but his runs towards Inter’s box could be a constant for the Partenopei, who will also deploy their classic back-four with Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Mathias Oliveira on the flanks, tasked with containing their counterparts Dimarco and Denzel Dumfries, respectively.
Fans can stream the match on OneFootball in the UK and Paramount+ in the USA. It is also available on beIN SPORTS and beIN SPORTS CONNECT in Australia and New Zealand.
