Roma will have to do without Artem Dovbky, while Theo Hernandez is expected to miss out for Milan when the two European hopefuls clash in the Stadio Olimpico in the penultimate round of 2024-25 Serie A fixtures on Sunday evening.

Roma sit in sixth place, albeit just one point away from the top four, with just one open Champions League spot remaining with two games of the Serie A season left to play. Milan are three points behind the Giallorossi, in eighth place, and need to make up ground if they are to play in a UEFA competition next season.

Dovbyk is expected to miss out with a muscular issue in his thigh, which leads to another starting opportunity for Eldor Shomurodov.

The return of Alexis Saelemaekers, in place of Dovbyk with Shomuurodov playing up front, is the only expected Giallorossi change after a disappointing 2-1 loss against Atalanta on Monday night.

Milan, meanwhile, are without Theo Hernandez due to a thigh injury. Warren Bondo is still out with an ankle injury, Samuel Chukwueze with a pubis issue, while England international Kyle Walker misses out through illness.

Alex Jimenez is expected to deputise for Theo Hernandez on the left flank, with Yunus Musah in line to feature on the right.

Pre-match reports suggest that Santiago Gimenez will start up front over Luka Jovic, and that there is a chance of Joao Felix starting in place of Rafael Leao.

Kick-off, like every Serie A match on Sunday, is due at 19.45 BST.
