Simone Inzaghi urged his high-flying Inter side to approach today’s Serie A top-four six-pointer against Fiorentina with extreme caution. Level on points ahead of the kick-off, the two sides will take the field amid a rich vein of form, looking to close a single-point deficit on table-topping Napoli.

“It will be a very difficult match and a lot depends on the way that we approach it,” Inzaghi said, as reported by Sky Sports. “We know they have won their last seven Serie A matches, so without a doubt, we are up against a tough opponent.“

Inter head into proceedings in high spirits after assembling a formidable 12-game unbeaten streak across all competitions. The reigning Serie A holders thrashed Hellas Verona 5-0 on the road last weekend, extending their winning run in away league action to four matches.

“We’ve been working well since July 13 and are happy with the results over the last two months, but we know that tomorrow will be really difficult,” Inzaghi continued. “Squad rotation is not a limitation, but something to be used effectively so that all the players give their contribution.

“We’re missing a few tomorrow but will go there looking for maximum points,” the Inter head coach addressed the injury crisis at Giuseppe Meazza.

Inter will be without French defender Benjamin Pavard, who sustained a thigh problem during midweek UEFA Champions League action. Francesco Acerbi and Davide Frattesi, who skipped a 1-0 home win against RB Leipzig on Tuesday, will likely be on the bench.
