The collapse of the Noah Okafor to RB Leipzig deal has complicated AC Milan’s plans, but the exit of Luka Jovic has now become a possibility.

Milan hoped to free up a slot for a new signing with the Swiss forward’s departure, but the precarious physical condition revealed by the medical tests he underwent in the last few hours have caused the operation to fall through.

It is an unforeseen event that forces the management to change its plans and evaluate other exits, to free space and also funds to go for either Marcus Rashford or Kyle Walker before the end of the month.

According to Sky (via Calciomercato.com), in the last few hours Monaco have made an enquiry for Jovic. The Serbian has only played 78 minutes across three Serie A matches this season, also suffering from prolonged lower back pain that required surgery.

In the last few days of the summer window Milan tried to offload Jovic, with some Saudi and Turkish clubs coming forward, plus Zenit St. Petersburg. However, the ex-Frankfurt star preferred to honour contract that ties him to the Rossoneri until June 30.

Having arrived at Milan as a free agent in the summer of 2023, Jovic has made 35 appearances and scored nine goals. After having previously played for Red Star, Benfica, Eintracht Frankfurt, Real Madrid and Fiorentina, the next stop in his career could therefore be in the French league.
