Arne Slot has provided an injury update on his Liverpool squad ahead of this weekend’s trip to Fulham.
Liverpool head to Craven Cottage on Sunday aiming to take another step closer to the Premier League title. The Reds are 12 points clear after a 1-0 win over Everton on Wednesday and now need a maximum of 13 points from their final eight games.
Ahead of the weekend, Slot confirmed that Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez remain sidelined for the upcoming schedule. Curtis Jones deputised in an unfamiliar right-back role against Liverpool, though there’s a chance that Conor Bradley returns at Fulham to provide a recognised option.
Slot also discussed Alisson Becker, who missed the midweek win over Everton. The Brazilian sustained a nasty head injury while on international duty and Slot said Liverpool are following the appropriate concussion protocols.
“Trent [Alexander-Arnold] and Joe [Gomez] will not be back in the upcoming weeks. Conor [Bradley], we will have to wait and see if he will be ready for the squad for Sunday,” Slot said at his pre-match press conference.
“Curtis [Jones] is an option [at right-back] because he did well but Jarell [Quansah] did well a few times in the position also, so let’s wait and see.
“With Alisson it is simple, it is a concussion and you have to tick all the boxes and the moment he does he will be in goal and at the moment he doesn’t – we are following the protocol.”
Speaking on Alisson ahead of the Everton game, Slot backed Caoimhin Kelleher to deputise in the former’s absence.
“The good thing for us is we’ve got Caoimhin Kelleher, who has shown many times this season and in previous seasons that he’s maybe even too good to be Ali’s back-up.”
