Liverpool and Arsenal Eye Eberechi Eze Amid £60m Release Clause Watch

Eze on Radar of Premier League’s Elite

As the summer transfer window draws near, one name is quietly dominating boardroom conversations: Eberechi Eze. The Crystal Palace playmaker is attracting serious interest from top Premier League clubs, with CaughtOffside reporting that “Arsenal and Liverpool are Eze’s main suitors.”

The 26-year-old has matured into one of the most technically gifted attacking midfielders in the division. Comfortable operating between the lines or drifting out wide, Eze has shown a flair and confidence rarely found outside the league’s ‘big six’. His ball-carrying, vision, and ability to change a game single-handedly have made him indispensable for Palace — and now irresistible to clubs seeking an extra edge in the final third.

According to CaughtOffside, “The England international has a £60m release clause in his Palace contract, and the Premier League’s top clubs are understood to be eager to snap him up in the coming months.” At that price, given the inflated nature of the current market, Eze could be considered a relative bargain.

Midfield Options Explored by Arsenal and Liverpool

For Arsenal, Eze could be the creative foil to Martin Ødegaard — a player who could lift some of the creative weight from the Norwegian’s shoulders. As CaughtOffside points out, “Eze could be a terrific signing for Arsenal right now, giving them a bit more X-factor in the middle of the park.”

His ability to unlock low blocks and beat players in tight spaces adds a different dimension to Mikel Arteta’s structured but sometimes rigid system. With title aspirations firmly in mind, adding someone capable of moments of individual brilliance could prove the final piece in a championship-winning puzzle.

Liverpool, meanwhile, continue to refine their midfield following last summer’s overhaul. While Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai offer structure and industry, Eze brings unpredictability. As noted in the article, “Liverpool could also surely do well to bring in someone like Eze to give them something a bit different in that department.”

A front-footed midfielder capable of operating in half-spaces and scoring goals would provide fresh attacking variation, particularly under a new manager keen to stamp his identity on the squad.

Palace Face Summer of Decision-Making

Palace are facing an increasingly familiar dilemma for mid-table sides in the Premier League: cash in on a peak-value asset or risk losing them later for less. At 26, Eze is entering his prime, and as CaughtOffside outlines, “this would probably be Palace’s last chance to make big money from letting him go.”

They may view selling Eze as an opportunity to secure the futures of other key assets. “It could then make it easier for them to keep hold of other key figures like Marc Guehi, Adam Wharton and Jean-Philippe Mateta.”

Wharton, in particular, is expected to attract serious interest in the near future. Retaining him for another year could prove more profitable in the long run, and selling Eze might be the cost of doing that business.

Interest Grows Beyond Arsenal and Liverpool

While Arsenal and Liverpool lead the chase, other clubs are circling. Manchester City, Manchester United, and Tottenham are all reportedly watching the situation. Eze’s consistent performances in a fluctuating Palace side suggest he has the temperament and talent to make the leap to Europe’s elite.

“Eberechi Eze transfer saga looks like one to watch,” reads the CaughtOffside headline — and it’s hard to argue with that. With a release clause in place and interest growing, this one has the feel of a deal that could move quickly once the window opens.

Our View – EPL Index Analysis

For Liverpool, Eze represents something the squad currently lacks — flair. The Anfield midfield, even after its rebuild, remains more functional than flamboyant. With Salah and Díaz on the wings and Núñez’s chaos up front, Eze could be the one to connect midfield and attack with elegance. His directness and press resistance would suit the Reds’ high-tempo style, especially under a progressive manager looking to refresh the Klopp era.

Arsenal might view Eze as a luxury — but a necessary one. Ødegaard is superb but stretched, and when he’s marked out of games, Arsenal sometimes look short of imagination. Eze could rotate with or support Ødegaard, while also offering width and drive in games where control isn’t enough. With Champions League and Premier League ambitions, squad depth in quality is no longer a want — it’s a need.

If either club is serious, they’ll need to move early. That £60m clause gives Palace limited control — and that makes Eze a rare asset in today’s market: affordable, available, and absolutely Premier League proven.
