Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has been responsible for almost twice as many offside calls than any other player in La Liga this season.

That’s according to statisticians WhoScored, who have on Friday provided an insight into the data.

Frontman Mbappé is for his part of course in the midst of what has been something of a hit-and-miss debut campaign in Spain.

Whilst the Frenchman has showcased increasing flashes of brilliance as the season has worn on, his 32 goals and counting have too often been interspersed with underwhelming performances.

One aspect of his game which has seen Mbappé come in for widespread criticism has been his inability to stay onside.

The 26-year-old, back in a centre-forward role, plays on the shoulder of the last defender, but has struggled time and again to deal with offside traps.

And such woes, as alluded to above, have this week given rise to a head-turning statistic.
