A head-turning statistic surrounding the attacking contributions of Barcelona star Jules Koundé has come to the fore on Wednesday night.
This comes owing to the Frenchman’s exploits en route to Barcelona’s Champions League downing of Red Star Belgrade.
Hansi Flick’s troops are fresh off making it seven wins on the bounce across all competitions, courtesy of a dominant 5-2 triumph in Serbia’s capital.
And the aforementioned Koundé played an absolutely pivotal role in as much.
Surging up and down the right flank over the 90 minutes, the former Sevilla man, remarkably, managed to lay on the assists for three of Barca’s five goals.
And as much, as alluded to above, has since given rise to an altogether noteworthy statistic.
As revealed by statisticians StatMuse, tonight, Koundé racked up more assists than Liverpool counterpart and creative specialist Trent Alexander-Arnold has managed all season.
All told, the Blaugrana stopper has now managed twice as many assists as rumoured Real Madrid target Alexander-Arnold in 2024/25.
