Takumi Minamino extends his contract through 2027! | OneFootball

AS Monaco is pleased to announce the extension of Takumi Minamino’s contract for an additional season. The Japanese attacking midfielder (30 years old) is now tied to the Club until June 2027.

Having arrived on the Rock in the summer of  2022 from Liverpool FC, Takumi Minamino has played 89 matches with the Principality club, scoring 16 goals and making 15 assists.

A key man in the second place finish

After a first season in a league he was still discovering, the Japanese international (65 caps, 24 goals) had a very successful second season in 2023-24, one which finished with the team in second place in Ligue 1, which allowed them to qualify for the Champions League.

Under the direction of Adi Hütter – who he had known at RB Salzburg in 2014-15 – the experienced midfielder, 30 years old since January 16, has stood out for his consistency at the highest level, which makes him one of the most used players in the squad (33 matches in all competitions in 2024-25).

A versatile, combative player capable of energizing the attack, Takumi has recently distinguished himself by accumulating 3 goals and 2 assists in the last 4 matches.

Very active this season in the Champions League – he has participated in 9 of the team’s 10 matches played in the competition – the midfielder, Monaco’s top scorer during this European campaign, was named man of the match during AS Monaco’s big win over Red Star Belgrade (5-2).

An extension through 2027

Now under contract until 2027, Takumi will be able to continue to put his commitment and creativity at the service of the Rouge et Blanc!
