The 2 new faces in Emma Hayes' latest 24-player USWNT squad | OneFootball

United States women's national team manager Emma Hayes has announced her 24-player roster for her training camp ahead of a pair of friendlies at the end of the month.

Among them are two new faces who will be making their USWNT debut if and when they take the field against either China or Jamaica: The Orlando Pride's Kerry Abello and the KC Current's Lo'eau LaBonta.

The 25-year-old Abello was a critical component of the Pride's NWSL Championship-winning side last season. The defender has continued that form into 2025 where she's played every league match so far for the third-place club.

Meanwhile, LaBonta has long been known as one of the NWSL's most colorful personalities -- as well as one of the NWSL's most viral celebration performers -- and at age 32 could be the oldest USWNT debutant in program history. The versatile midfielder played every minute for the first-place Current his season, mostly in central midfield.

Angel City sisters

Another intriguing angle is the inclusion of sisters Alyssa Thompson and Giselle Thompson.

The two play together for Angel City and have proved that they can be lethal in front of goal, with five goals and four primary assists between them for their club side this campaign. Earlier in the NWSL season, Alyssa assisted Gisele for her first NWSL goal and the first goal combination for a sister duo. The Thompson sisters will look to do it again, this time on the national stage.

The USWNT will play China in Saint Paul, Minnesota on May 31, before heading to St. Louis, Missouri to play against Jamaica on June 2.
