Tottenham host Bodo/Glimt in the opening leg of their Europa League semi-final on Thursday, May 1st, at 8pm (UK time). Find our match preview and best bets below, from expert tipster Anthony Eadson. Two selections have caught his eye, including a 4/1 anytime goalscorer.

BTTS Yes (17/20 with bet365)

Three of the last four Europa League matches at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium have seen both teams score. Ange Postecoglou’s side have been leaking goals for fun this season and looking back over the last few months, it’s just one clean sheet in their last 13 matches. With that in mind, backing both teams to score immediately stands out. Bodo have scored in their last 12 Europa League matches, and with such pressure on Spurs to take an advantage into the second leg, the visitors can capitalise on a nervous backline.

Kasper Høgh anytime goalscorer (4/1 with Sky Bet)

No player has scored more Europa League goals in 2025 than Bodø/Glimt forward Kasper Høgh, who has seven to his name. Four of those strikes came in his previous five competition appearances. His shooting statistics indicate a shot accuracy of 71% in this competition, while his goal conversion rate is an impressive 50%.

How both teams go into Tottenham vs Bodo/Glimt

Despite ongoing challenges on the domestic front, Tottenham have looked the part in Europe, finishing fourth in the inaugural Europa League group phase with 17 points (five wins, two draws, and one loss). This ensured the Lilywhites’ safe passage into the Round of 16, avoiding the playoff round. Meeting them would be AZ, whom they had faced earlier in the competition; the Dutch side claimed an opening-leg success (1-0) in Alkmaar but were unable to hold on to that slender lead as Ange Postecoglou’s men ran out 3-1 winners in the return leg. Eintracht Frankfurt would be a more challenging opponent for Spurs, especially after their opening match in London ended in a 1-1 draw. However, the Premier League outfit produced one of their better results with a 1-0 victory in Germany, keeping alive hopes of ending a 17-year trophy drought.

Back in the 2021/22 season, Bodø/Glimt reached the Conference League quarter-finals, enhancing manager Kjetil Knutsen’s status and sparking speculation about a potential departure to a European powerhouse. However, no such move materialised, with the Norwegian tactician once again making waves with the Eliteserien outfit. Having finished ninth in the league phase standings, narrowly missing automatic qualification for the Round of 16, they were immediately on the back foot against Eredivisie side Twente, losing the opening leg 2-1 in the Netherlands. However, they turned the match around at home with a 5-2 victory after extra time. It was more straightforward against Olympiacos in the next round, with a 3-0 win followed by a 2-1 loss in Piraeus. Things could not have been more difficult in the quarter-finals when they faced Lazio, who topped the league phase, but they shocked everyone with a 2-0 first-leg victory before losing by the same scoreline in Rome, only to win on penalties.

Tottenham team news

Radu Dragusin, who underwent surgery in February following his ACL injury, is the only Spurs player unavailable. Postecoglou is expected to place more resources on their European campaign as a means to play in next season’s Champions League, as a top-five finish has long been ruled out.

Bodo/Glimt team news

Patrick Berg, Haakon Evjen, and Andreas Helmersen will serve respective suspensions. Berg and Evjen reached the necessary threshold in Bodø/Glimt’s quarter-final second-leg penalty shootout triumph over Lazio, while Helmersen picked up two yellow cards after coming on in the 76th minute.

Tottenham vs Bodo/Glimt head-to-head

This will be the first meeting between Tottenham and Bodø/Glimt. Spurs have previously faced Norwegian opponents on four occasions, winning each of those contests, both home and away, against Lyn Oslo and Tromsø. As for Bodø/Glimt, they have previously faced Arsenal and Manchester United, losing twice to Spurs’ neighbours and once against United.
