Tottenham Hotspur host Liverpool in a huge Premier League fixture this weekend.
Spurs head into the clash with momentum after scoring nine goals across their last two fixtures. Ange Postecoglou’s team scored five times before half-time against Southampton last weekend, before beating Manchester United 4-3 on Thursday night.
That latter win earned progress to the Carabao Cup semi-finals, where Spurs will take on Liverpool over two legs in the new year.
First, Spurs must face the league-leading Reds in the Premier League. Arne Slot’s side have lost just once in 25 games this season and lead the Premier League and Champions League standings.
Ange Postecoglou continues to operate with a depleted defence. None of Cristian Romero, Ben Davies or Micky van de Ven are available so 18-year-old Archie Gray should continue out of position in central defence. First-choice goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is also out and Spurs will need Fraser Forster to bounce back from his howlers in the win over Manchester United.
There’s better news on Destiny Udogie, who sat out that victory. The left-back is expected to return and could replace Djed Spence in the side. Wilson Odobert, Richarlison and Mikey Moore are also on the treatment table, while Rodrigo Bentancur serves the final fixture of his seven-game suspension.
Spurs predicted XI: Forster; Spence, Dragusin, Gray, Udogie; Bissouma, Sarr, Maddison; Kulusevski, Solanke, Johnson
