Two Dutch EURO 2024 Stars Favourites To Start In Inter Milan Vs Napoli Serie A Clash | OneFootball

Denzel Dumfries and Stefan de Vrij are the favourites to start for Inter Milan in Sunday’s top of the table Serie A clash with Napoli.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the right flank and centre of defense are the two main doubts for Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi.

There is little doubt that Inter coach Inzaghi will aim to go with his strongest available starting eleven on Sunday.

Inter take on Napoli at the San Siro. They do so going into the match just a point behind the Partenopei at the summit of the Serie A table.

And moreover, Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi left a number of regular starters out of the lineup against Arsenal in Wednesday’s Champions League match.

That was a clear enough signal of Inzaghi’s intentions for Sunday’s match.

The Inter coach has aimed to keep his first-choice starting eleven as fresh as possible.

Dumfries & De Vrij Favourites To Start For Inter Vs Napoli

Two players who started for Inter on Wednesday are Denzel Dumfries and Stefan de Vrij.

The Dutch international duo both put in very solid shifts to help the Nerazzurri keep their clean sheet.

And according to the Corriere, the two Dutchman are favourites to keep their places this weekend as well.

In the case of Dumfries, his competition for a starting place would be Matteo Darmian.

Darmian had started on the left flank against Arsenal. This allowed Federico Dimarco to have a rest from the start.

Dimarco will be back in the lineup against Napoli, though.

Therefore, it’s down to Dumfries and Darmian on the right. And according to the Corriere, with Darmian having suffered some cramps in the latter stages of Wednesday’s match, Dimarco is the favourite.

Meanwhile, in defense, doubts about putting Francesco Acerbi straight back into the starting eleven would give de Vrij the edge to start.
