Wantaway midfielder Davide Frattesi is now a step away from leaving Inter Milan in the January transfer window.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, Simone Inzaghi’s decision to bench the Italian ace against Bologna is a ‘clear’ sign of separation.
Inter will lock horns with Bologna at the San Siro later this evening without Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Hakan Calhanoglu.
Though injuries have depleted Inzaghi’s midfield options, the Scudetto-winning manager will nail Frattesi to the bench.
Indeed, Piotr Zielinski is the front-runner to take the Armenian’s place in the starting line-up.
Meanwhile, Kristjan Asllani will fill in for Calhanoglu, with Nicolo Barella complementing the midfield trio.
Frattesi’s omission speaks volumes.
It’s no secret that his agent is pushing for a transfer amid Roma’s genuine attempt to lure the 25-year-old back to the capital.
However, Inter have pinned a substantial €45 million price tag on their star’s head, deterring the Giallorossi from making a bid.
Yet, there’s a feeling the Nerazzurri could soften their stance toward the end of January.
Frattesi is seemingly unhappy with a bit-part role at Meazza and wants out.
Since there’s no point keeping hold of an unsettled player, Inter could offload the ex-Sassuolo man in the coming weeks.
