Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has dropped Marcus Rashford from three consecutive matchday squads.
Rashford kickstarted the Amorim era in style, netting the opening goal in the manager’s debut game.
It seemed like the England international could thrive under the Portuguese head coach but the situation has since taken a dramatic turn.
Manchester Evening News report that Rashford is ‘unhappy’ after United sounded out potential buyers without informing him.
The 27-year-old was reportedly ‘unaware’ of this development.
He admitted that he is willing to try a new experience at this stage of his career.
Rashford will be made available for transfer next month but his whooping £325,000-a-week contract could be a major obstacle for many clubs.
The Red Devils have two more games to play before the turn of the year.
It will be interesting to see if Amorim decides to include the forward in those two games.
Rashford was present at Old Trafford for the 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth but was overlooked by the manager again.
The ‘unstoppable‘ forward has played over 400 games for the club.
He rose through the ranks and has been the poster boy for United academy over the last few years.
It feels like his departure from Old Trafford is inevitable.
Rashford is an exceptionally talented player yet he has fallen short of the lofty expectations many had for him at United.
There is no space for a tradition left-winger in Amorim’s 3-4-3 system.
The only two spots available to him are the centre-forward role or one of the number ten positions.
A move elsewhere makes sense for the player and the Red Devils.
A transfer to Spain or France, away from English media, could be ideal for him.
United would also benefit from saving the massive wages and ease their financial burden.
