West Ham United are admirers of Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton but no contact has been made at this stage, according to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook.
The Hammers are looking to make last-gasp additions to their squad at the London Stadium club before the end of the January transfer window on Monday, and the Reds academy graduate has emerged as a target.
It remains to be seen whether West Ham will look to move for Morton in the coming hours, but the 22-year-old recently admitted that he is ready to leave Liverpool this month.
“This month is a big month for myself,” the West Ham target told LFCTV some days ago.
“It’s decision time, and I feel ready to kick on and be a proper professional, if that’s here or someone else.
“I need to be a bit selfish and go with however I feel.”
The Hammers could now launch a swoop for Morton as manager Graham Potter looks to bolster his squad for the second half of the season.
The English defensive midfielder spent last season on loan in the Championship with Hull City, featuring in 41 games across all competitions having played 46 times on loan with Blackburn Rovers in 2022-23.
He will fancy his chances of impressing elsewhere as he is not in the first-team plans of manager Arne Slot, and a move to West Ham could appeal to him.
Morton is desperate to prove his quality in the Premier League having not got the chance at the Merseyside club, and joining the Hammers could present him with the opportunities he craves.
The Irons need a few quality additions to their squad this month to end the season better than they started, and landing such a player could come in handy.
