What journo ‘just spotted’ sidelined Utd star doing at Carrington has left fans hopeful of a timely Europa League return

Manchester United held an open training session at Carrington this morning, seven days out from their highly anticipated Europa League final.
On May 21, the Red Devils will lock horns with Tottenham Hotspur in an all-English contest held in San Mames Stadium, Bilbao. Given the sides’ disastrous Premier League campaigns, which have them occupying the two spots above the relegation zone, it’s safe to say the win is equally vital for both.
Yet, only one can reign victorious come the full-time whistle, so preparations are now well underway for Ruben Amorim and his squad in hopes of lifting the trophy next week.

Amorim will have to make do without Lisandro Martinez, who has been out of action since February with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
When Joshua Zirkzee sustained a hamstring issue last month, it was initially expected that he had played his final game of 2024/2025. That could well still be the case, however, he told ex-Bayern Munich teammate Alphonso Davies that he was doing his utmost to recover in time for the Spurs clash.
Today, Amorim welcomed Jonny Evans and Toby Collyer back to training, with Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Ayden Heaven all, unfortunately, absent from the main session.
Diogo Dalot took part in some individual work away from the group as he ‘continues his push’ to be involved in some form in Spain.
Fans were granted another potential boost later in the afternoon when journalist Nathan Salt (of the Daily Mail) posted on X/Twitter: “Just spotted Leny Yoro heading into the gym at Carrington to do his own fitness work away from the main group. Hopefully a positive sign.”
Yoro was forced off with what appeared to be a significant issue during the 2-0 defeat to West Ham last Sunday. After a delayed start to his maiden term, he has become an invaluable figure at the back for Amorim, so his presence in the travelling squad to Bilbao would be hugely beneficial.
