Which team is most likely to win the Championship?

The Championship season is heading into the final straight with Sheffield United, Leeds and Burnley all virtually neck-and-neck in the table - yet Playmaker's predictive algorithm suggests Blades fans have plenty of cause for optimism.
Currently two points clear of the Whites and the Clarets, who are level on 81 points, Chris Wilder's league leaders have been the form team in the second tier in 2025 (with 34 points won, more than any other team) and they lead the division despite starting the campaign with a two-point deduction.
Second-placed Leeds (78 goals) are the top scorers in 'The 92' and third-placed Burnley (only 11 conceded) have the meanest defence across the top four tiers, but - be that as it may - the Blades are the clear favourites to win the Championship, according to Playmaker's 'Predictor'.
In fact, taking into account past performance, head-to-head records and each team's remaining games this season, our predictive algorithm computes that Sheffield United have a 60% chance of winning the Championship this season.
As you can see from the table above, our number crunching can't separate Leeds and Burnley when it comes to their respective chances of topping the Championship at the climax of Matchweek 46 - both sides given a 20% shot at bagging winners' medals.
Ultimately, however, everything will come down to how the teams, manager and players perform over the next month and a bit - and we will only be able to judge them, and our supercomputer, at 3pm on 5 May!
