An insight into the positive knock-on effect of the emergence of Real Madrid starlet Raúl Asencio on a fellow member of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad has today been provided.

The info comes courtesy of Marca, and highlights Aurélien Tchouaméni as the player in question.

Midfielder Tchouaméni for his part marked his return to group training on Monday, following a spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

The France international, in turn, is in line to mark his competitive comeback on Wednesday night, when Real Madrid make the trip to the Basque Country for a meeting with Athletic Club.

And, in doing so, Tchouaméni is expected to slot into the hole at the base of Carlo Ancelotti’s midfield.

This comes in large part owing to the sudden emergence of the aforementioned Raúl Asencio.

Amid the injury crisis at the heart of Real Madrid’s backline, Tchouaméni had been earmarked by boss Ancelotti as the first-choice option to step in alongside Antonio Rüdiger.

Amid the former’s injury absence, however, Asencio was afforded the chance to impress, one which the young Spaniard grasped with both hands.

With Eduardo Camavinga also on the sidelines with a fresh fitness problem, the coaching staff at Valdebebas have in turn breathed a collective sigh of relief.

This comes with Asencio set to maintain his place in Los Blancos’ backline, allowing Tchouaméni to return to his favoured pivot position.
