Andrey Santos gives interesting answer when quizzed on Chelsea future | OneFootball

Andrey Santos has insisted he’s ready for Chelsea, but stated his agent will have a conversation with the club at the end of the season.

The Blues signed Santos from Brazilian club Vasco da Gama for around £13m in January 2023, although the midfielder is yet to make a competitive appearance for the club.

There were reports suggesting the 20-year-old could be part of the squad this season, but the decision was once again taken to send him on loan to Strasbourg.

Santos insists he’s ready for Chelsea

Given how things have turned out with injuries Santos arguably would have featured quite regularly for Chelsea this season.

However, he’s excelling in Ligue 1 with Strasbourg currently sixth and four points behind Monaco in second, and Champions League qualification is a real possibility.

Despite his age and the fact he’s a loanee, Santos has captained the side this season and has earned huge praise from Liam Rosenior.

The Brazilian is expected to have a key role in the squad next season, and Santos revealed he’s ready for to play for Chelsea, although his focus right now is on Strasbourg.

“Am I ready for Chelsea? Yes, but the two clubs and my agent will discuss it at the end of the season,” he told Di Marzio.

“For the moment the focus is on Strasbourg, seven games to go. Our goal is to finish as high as possible. But we have to stay united, qualifying for the Champions League would be a great goal for us and for the fans.”

Santos has been one of Strasbourg’s best performers this season and has ten goals and three assists in 27 appearances in all competitions.

The midfielder’s performances haven’t gone unnoticed and he’s said to be attracting interest from some of Europe’s top clubs including Bayern Munich, however it’s believed Chelsea’s stance is the midfielder isn’t for sale.
