Brentford got off to a fast start and had a great chance to take the lead just a minute in when Maddie Phillips picked out Chloe Logie with a great pass.
The striker’s first touch inside the box was good but her shot went straight at the Ashmount Leigh keeper.
On 10 minutes, the Bees saw another great chance come and go. This time, Phillips picked out Cheatley, with the striker beating Katie Peers with her initial shot, only for her effort to be cleared off the line by Lisa Richards.
The Bees were rewarded for their pressure a few minutes later as Woods brilliantly found the top corner with a free-kick from 25 yards.
Ashmount Leigh struggled to string together a spell on the ball in the opening half as Brentford dominated possession and were playing the game at their own pace.
The visitors looked dangerous down the flanks with wing-back Chloe Webb and Phillips providing an out ball.
Cheatley went close again on the half-hour mark, with Webb finding the striker with a cross before her first-time effort took a deflection and fell wide.
Woods was playing at the top of her game and tested Peers in the Ashmount Leigh goal when she drove up the pitch and let fly from range.
The attacking midfielder was involved again as Brentford doubled their lead just before half-time, with her excellent cross finding Cheatley, who finished in style.
Brentford made a good start to the second half and thought they had made it 3-0 just two minutes after the restart when Freya Worsley played through Logie.
The striker found the back of the net with her finish, but the offside flag was up.
Samantha Read went close to scoring a spectacular goal when she struck from 35 yards but her effort flew inches over the bar.
Osborne made a number of changes with just over an hour played as he looked to give minutes to the squad.
It took the Bees until 71 minutes to find their third and it came through substitute Down as she headed home from a Sophie Troth corner.
Cheatley nearly added her second and Brentford's fourth but, after being found by a great Lucy Potter pass, she was denied by Peers.
