Paris Saint-Germain are considering various options to strengthen their attack for the second half of the 2024-25 season, with Aston Villa’s Jhon Durán emerging as a possible target.
In October, Eduardo Burgos from Diario AS reported that PSG and Bayern Munich both made offers for Durán during the summer transfer window, but Aston Villa rejected them.
A recent report from CaughtOffside states that PSG have not yet decided whether to meet Aston Villa’s £60 million asking price for the forward, as the club is still evaluating Duran’s potential.
The report also mentions that Barcelona, Napoli, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich have all shown interest and inquired about the terms of a potential deal. Nonetheless, there appears to be conflicting information on how much the fee would be.

Journalist Ben Jacobs reported on Friday that PSG are interested in Durán, but a potential deal is complicated by Villa’s £80 million asking price this January. The valuation reflects Durán’s strong form and recent contract extension, with Villa only willing to sell if an exceptional offer comes in.
PSG are considering sending Randal Kolo Muani or Marco Asensio in exchange, as they believe Durán’s value is around £25 million lower than Villa’s asking price.
Amid rumors linking Durán to PSG, French football expert Jonathan Johnson shared his thoughts on the Colombian and the qualities he could offer the Parisians if they choose to pursue him. However, Johnson emphasized that a deal is unlikely to happen in January.
“There is a very talented player,” Johson said about Durán on the latest PSG Talking podcast. “Technically, I’d probably rate him above Kolo Muani, but certainly in terms of being a reliable presence in front of goal and having the ability to hit the target and score regularly. I think he has a lot more variety, and he would boost PSG’s chances of scoring.
“Whether or not he takes well to the way Luis Enrique sets the team up, we’d have to see how it could work. But I think being coached by someone who speaks Spanish; you can look at the impact it’s had under Unai Emery this season in getting him to understand the super sub role.
“I don’t think he’d come into a potential PSG move expecting to start. But I do think there is an element of Durán seeing himself at a top European club like PSG, not necessarily before the end of the season, but possibly from this summer onwards. So the timing almost lines up.”
