Striker Marcus Thuram has made a partial return to training ahead of next Saturday’s Serie A clash between Napoli and Inter Milan.

This according to Italian outlet FCInterNews. They also report that there is optimism about the condition of forward Joaquin Correa.

Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram is currently recovering from an ankle problem.

The Frenchman took a blow to the ankle in a challenge in a match against Fiorentina earlier this month.

Thuram had tried to play on after receiving that knock. But he had to come off the pitch right around the half hour mark of that match.

Then, Thuram had managed to play as a substitute in a Serie A match against Juventus.

However, it was fairly obvious that the 27-year-old was not at his best physically in that substitute appearance.

Due to this lack of fitness, Marcus Thuram did not feature in the Inter squad for Saturday’s Serie A win over Genoa.

The priority is to have Marcus Thuram back fit to start next Saturday’s top-of-the-table Serie A match against Napoli.

According to FCIN, Thuram competed the first part of today’s training session with the rest of the squad.

However, over the second part the Frenchman worked individually.

There is little chance of Thuram being part of the squad for tomorrow’s Coppa Italia clash with Lazio.

However, the 27-year-old is getting on track to be ready for the match against Napoli next weekend.

Meanwhile, FCIN reports, there is optimism about the condition of forward Joaquin Correa.

The Argentine had to come off after the first half of Inter’s win over Genoa with a knee sprain. However, medical tests indicate that the issue is nothing serious for Correa.
