Marcus Rashford is expected to leave Manchester United in the January transfer window having fallen out of favour with new head coach Ruben Amorim.
It now looks like a case of where, not if, the forward will go, with a decision likely to be made in the next week or so.
As reported by Sky Sports, Rashford’s brother and agent Dwaine Maynard is speaking to multiple clubs across Europe with the view of securing a winter move for his client.
German outfit Borussia Dortmund were one of the clubs who registered an interest in the 27-year-old but now appear to be out of the race for his signature.
Sky say Dortmund have distanced themselves from the transfer as Rashford is not a player head coach Nuri Sahin wants at the club.
The outlet also mentioned that the cost of the deal, even if subsidised, would be well above their budget this month.
Despite Dortmund dropping out, Rashford still has plenty of options and will be confident of securing a move by the end of the window.
Serie A giants AC Milan are currently the red-hot favourites to acquire the forward, as recently relayed by The Peoples Person.
The Rossoneri are desperate to add Rashford to their ranks with former United star Zlatan Ibrahimovic playing a key role in negotiations.
Rashford’s form has dramatically dipped since his 30-goal-season in 2022/23 with his attitude and commitment called into question by Amorim.
The Englishman hasn’t featured for United since mid-December, missing the last seven fixtures as the team continues to adapt to the new coach’s methods.
United look to be finally settling into the new system after strong back-to-back away showings at Liverpool and Arsenal.
The team are back in Premier League action on Thursday as Southampton travel to Old Trafford in what is a must-win for Amorim’s side.
