He said: “We came up against a Leyton Orient side who are in great form and battling for promotion as they currently sit in second place.
“They were very calm on the ball and were excellent at switching play which really stretched us throughout the game.
“The result was obviously tough to take, but playing in games like this will give us a clue on what we need to improve on and is a good experience for the players in terms of helping them develop in the future.”
The defeat leaves Brentford still one place and a point above the relegation zone in eighth position, with Luton Town Reserves and Camden and Islington sat behind them.
Since gaining promotion as champions into the Greater London Premier Division, the Bees have struggled in their first season in the competition, winning just two out of their 12 games so far.
Despite this, Khantharat remains positive and believes his side can still have some success as the season edges towards a close.
“The results haven’t always been what we would have wanted but we are working hard to develop as a team and to continue to improve,” he explained.
“I think the players need some praise for their attitude and hard work this season, we always knew we would be up against it playing in a higher division, but it’s important that we keep our heads up and continue to fight.
“We are still in the JGMT Cup and have done really well in that competition and we will battle until the end in the current situation we are faced with in the league.
"So there is still plenty to play for this season and I know the team are willing to give everything they have until the final day.”
