Chelsea starlet Josh Acheampong signs new contract until 2029 | OneFootball

One of Chelsea’s young stars, Josh Acheampong, has signed a new contract with the club until 2029.

The 18-year-old, right back has come through Chelsea’s youth ranks and this season started his first-ever game for the senior team in the Blues’ Europa Conference League clash against Astana.

On how pleased he was that Acheampong signed the contract, Maresca said: “Very, very happy, very happy. With Josh it’s been clear, he was with us in pre-season. I didn’t know him personally but after two or three days he really impressed me.

“Finally the club found an agreement with him and we are all happy because we are all convinced that he can be a great player for this club.”

Maresca doesn’t even think Acheampong needs a loan stint. “My opinion is that he has to stay close with us. As much as we can keep him here it is much better.”

Tosin Adarabioyo is also a huge fan of Acheampong, and said on his contract renewal: “Great news, very happy to see that. He’s an amazing player and I’m very happy that he’s here to stay.”
