PSG had reportedly been watching Lyon midfielder Rayan Cherki, who’s also catching the eye of Liverpool and Tottenham. The 21-year-old has been in great form this season, tallying 12 goals and 19 assists in 43 games. He’s quickly establishing himself as one of Europe’s most exciting young talents.

Earlier, Graeme Bailey from TBR Football reported that Manchester United is among several Premier League clubs keeping tabs on Cherki. Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Aston Villa, and Newcastle are also said to be closely following his situation.

Interest in Cherki isn’t limited to England. Bayern Munich and PSG recently re-entered the race thanks to his standout performances. But it looks like PSG are now out of the running. Foot Mercato recently reported that PSG have ruled out a move for Cherki, with no talks happening or expected anytime soon.

Amid the recent rumors surrounding Cherki, Christian Falk reports that Borussia Dortmund are still interested in the midfielder. However, any potential move could depend on player sales or income from the Club World Cup.

“Dortmund will discuss whether or not to pursue Rayan Cherki at the end of the season,” the Bayern Insider exclusively informed CaughtOffside.

“BVB are, for what it’s worth, still highly interested in the Olympique Lyonnaise player. However, without any sales or an outstanding performance at the upcoming Club World Cup (worth €1.78 million per group stage win), there is hardly much of a transfer budget available.”

Moreover, Falk spoke about where Liverpool sit in this Cherki race and hints that they might be closer to where PSG are at the moment.

“Negotiations could then become very difficult again, as they were previously in January,” Falk said. “There’s no real news about Cherki and Liverpool.”
