Dejan Kulusevski has given his honest opinion on Rangers after Philippe Clement’s side held Tottenham Hotspur to a 1-1 draw and has also shared his verdict on Ibrox fans.
Rangers and Tottenham played out a 1-1 draw at Ibrox in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening. Both goals in the League Stage game came in the second half.
Hamza Igamane put Rangers in the lead in the 47th minute with a fine finish from James Tavernier’s cross.
Kulusevski, who had replaced Timo Werner at half-time for Tottenham, restored parity for the visiting team on 75 minutes.
The Sweden international forward found the back of the net with a low left-footed drive. Dominic Solanke gave the assist.
After the match, Kulusevski praised Rangers fans and also gave credit to the Gers team. He hailed Ibrox as well.
Kulusevski told TNT Sports: “I think Rangers played very well, we struggled a bit. We didn’t play well enough to win the game.
“I think Rangers played a perfect game, it’s a beautiful stadium, the fans helped them a lot.”
Tottenham are a Premier League club. The North London outfit are aiming to finish in the UEFA Champions League places.
Spurs were expected to win against Rangers even at Ibrox, so the Gers picking up a point against them is a great result.
Rangers could have even won the match. The Ibrox club should be proud of themselves.
The draw with Tottenham will boost the confidence of the Rangers players ahead of the League Cup final against Celtic this weekend.
Celtic have been the dominating force in Scottish football for a number of years now and will head into the final against Rangers as favourites.
However, the Rangers players will feel that having drawn with Premier League club Tottenham, they can beat Celtic.
