The form of Nicolas Jackson has led Gary Neville to question whether Chelsea need to actually go out and sign a first choice striker.
The Blues continued their good start to the season with a 3-0 win against Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge with Jackson again amongst the goals.
The 23-year-old scored the opener, which was has eighth league goal of the season and he remains on track to score 20 league goals providing he can stay fit.
It was no secret Chelsea wanted a striker in the summer having pursued Victor Osimhen for the majority of the window, whilst a deal for Samu Omorodion collapsed at the last minute despite everything being agreed.
Jackson’s start to the season has shown that not signing a striker may not have been a bad thing, with Jamie O’Hara stating he believes the Senegal international is actually turning into a really good striker.
The Senegalese is a key player for Enzo Maresca and Darren Bent feels Jackson is perfect for how the Italian wants to play.

Jackson is keeping the more established Christopher Nkunku out of the side, and with the January window approaching talk has begun in regards to Chelsea and strikers.
The Blues have recently been linked with a move for Ipswich’s Liam Delap, but it’s seemingly unclear what their stance is on the likes of Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres.
Neville has previously stated he felt Chelsea needed a top quality striker, but following the Villa game he appears to have pulled back slightly on that.
“He [Nicolas Jackson] is now pushing to the point where you think, “do we actually need that first striker? Could he be that first striker?,” he told Sky Sports.

Jackson has made a considerable improvement since the start of the season, especially with his finishing and it was reported the Blues view him as one of the best three strikers in the Premier League.
The former Villarreal man certainly has all the ingredients and if he continues to develop how he is then it looks like Chelsea could have potentially saved themselves a lot of money.
