Erling Haaland’s 46th home Premier League goal has taken him into the top three top-flight scorers in the Etihad Stadium’s history.

The Norwegian, who joined City in the summer of 2022, is going at a rate of over one goal per top-flight game at our home.

He needed just 45 appearances at the Etihad in the Premier League to hit 46 goals.

He bagged the first of his brace on 42 minutes against the Hammers with a far post header and added a second on 55 with a clever dink over the goalkeeper.

That takes him beyond Kevin De Bruyne, who was previously third with 45 strikes in 133 appearances.

Haaland now has Raheem Sterling in his sights, with the winger scoring 51 times in 109 Premier League games at the Etihad during his seven-year stay at the Club.

Sergio Aguero is by far the leading scorer in the Etihad’s Premier League history, netting 106 goals in 142 appearances.

Other prominent Etihad goal-scorers that are still at the Club include Phil Foden and Ilkay Gundogan, with 28 and 27 respectively.

Haaland’s current tally has already seen him surpass the likes of Carlos Tevez (38 goals), David Silva (36) and Yaya Toure (30).

In total, Haaland has now scored 111 times in 124 matches for Pep Guardiola’s side – helping us to Premier League success in both of his complete seasons so far.

Our No.9 has won the division’s Golden Boot in both of his terms so far – setting a new record for most goals in a season with 36 in the Premier League in 2022/23.

He backed that up with 27 strikes last year and has again started this season in terrific form, scoring 12 goals in his first nine appearances.

We moved into our current home in 2003 after 80 years at Maine Road – a move that has been a key part of our growth into one of European football’s leading clubs.
