Jonathan David has confirmed he’ll be moving on from Lille once his contract wraps up at the end of the season.
It’s been on the cards for a while. Even though he hadn’t completely ruled out staying, a summer exit always looked likely - and now it’s official.
The Canadian striker is set to become a free agent, and clubs from all over Europe are circling. Napoli are the latest side to be strongly linked, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Premier League interest is also building, with the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and West Ham all reportedly keeping tabs on him.
David joined Lille from Gent in 2020 for €27 million, and he’s been a huge player for them - bagging 109 goals in 231 matches and helping the club to a Ligue 1 title. He’s in fine form this season too, scoring 25 goals in 48 appearances across all competitions.
