Newcastle reach agreement to sign Georgian wonderkid Vakhtang Salia | OneFootball

According to a report from Foot Mercato, Newcastle United have reached an agreement to sign Georgian forward Vakhtang Salia (17).

Whilst the transfer window may be closed, Newcastle are planning for the future and are set to formalise a deal to sign Salia from Georgian side Dinamo Tbilisi. Foot Mercato understands that there is already an agreement in place between Newcastle United, Dinami Tbilisi and the player himself. The Georgia U21 international has already made his debut for the first team and even scored in a goal in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers.

However, whilst the deal is almost completed, Salia will not immediately move to England to boost Eddie Howe’s side. Instead, he will remain with formative club Dinamo Tbilisi until the end of the season, before joining the Magpies for the start of the 2025/26 campaign.
