Predicted Man City & Leicester XIs with 3 Foxes potentially dropped

It's matchday for the two Premier League cities. Today we examine fitness news and possibly absent players for the two clubs. Then we'll consequently predict starting lineups for Manchester City as well as Leicester City. Obviously the main talking point before the encounter is the absence of star Citizens striker Erling Haaland.

The Norwegian hitman has, unfortunately for Pep Guardiola, been ruled out for approximately seven weeks in what is a significant blow. However, there are updates emanating from King Power Stadium too. The east Midlands side might have been given a boost prior to visiting Etihad Stadium. Portugal international Ricardo Pereira is back in contention for a start under LCFC manager Ruud van Nistelrooy.

So let's waste no time as we forecast Man City and Foxes XIs. Not to mention taking into account that a trio of Leicester stars could potentially be dropped for the game. Well, that's if van Nistelrooy has finally learned his lessons. Which players will probably begin the clash, and who's likely sidelined or disregarded?

Probable Manchester City starting XI

First of all, Man City's injuries. Oscar Bobb is a doubt for the match. Rodri, Nathan Ake, Manuel Akanji, John Stones and Haaland won't feature for the home team. Therefore the Sky Blues may look like this:

Ederson, Rico Lewis, Abdukodir Khusanov, Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol, Nico Gonzalez, Illkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva, Phil Foden, Jeremy Doku, Omar Marmoush.

Probable Leicester City lineup

The Foxes will plausibly and feasibly start with RvN's new 5-2-3 (3-4-3 in attack, supposedly) formation. It'll probably be a defensive type of five-at-the-back system. I would start Ricardo for Kristiansen and swap James Justin to the left.

Patson Daka has proven himself rather useless at this stage. While Facundo Buonanotte is good enough to be in the team, yet won't be in all probability. Wout Faes is another who should be left out. Nevertheless, our actual expectation is below:

Mads Hermansen; Kristiansen, Faes, Conor Coady, Caleb Okoli, Justin; Wilf Ndidi, Boubakary Soumare; El Khannouss, Daka; Jamie Vardy.
