Premier League predictions: Gameweek 14 | OneFootball

One weekend of Premier League action has only just come to an end but fans are already giddily looking forward to the first taste of midweek fixtures the 2024/25 season has to offer.

The table is firmly taking shape, with runaway leaders Liverpool sitting pretty at the top of the tree after their latest victory over Manchester City. However, they face a tough away day this week and the chasing pack will be sniffing around to take advantage of any slip-up for Arne Slot's side.

Teams at the bottom at the standings must also take control of their upcoming clashes, with the likes of Southampton, Ipswich Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers still in trouble after the latest set of results.

Here's how 90min expects Gameweek 14 to unfold.

Tuesday 3 December

Gameweek 14 gets underway at Portman Road when Ipswich Town entertain Crystal Palace. The two sides only have a pair of wins between them - oddly both coming against Tottenham Hotspur - but it's the Tractor Boys who may finally grab their second victory of the season on Tuesday night.

West Ham United couldn't follow up an impressive victory over Newcastle United against Arsenal, with all seven goals of their 5-2 loss arriving in the first half. Pressure remains on Julen Lopetegui's shoulders and the Hammers could be the victims of some sort of new manager bounce when they take on Ruud van Nistelrooy's Leicester City, who themselves were rudderless in defeat to Brentford.

Wednesday 4 December

Four fixtures kick off at 19:30 GMT on Wednesday evening. Everton were truly abject as they gave up goal after goal in a heavy defeat at Old Trafford and Sean Dyche simply has to oversee a positive result against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Gary O'Neil's side are back in the relegation zone after losing to Bournemouth but have attacking stars like Matheus Cunha who could make life difficult for the Toffees.

Pep Guardiola was rattled as Manchester City's winless run extended to seven matches at Anfield. They'd be heavy favourites at home against Nottingham Forest most years but their lack of confidence may come to the fore again, with visiting striker Chris Wood back on the scoresheet against Ipswich.

Things couldn't have gone much better for Arne Slot at Liverpool with over a third of third of the league season now completed. The Reds hold a nine-point advantage in the title race and should have enough in the tank to surpass a Newcastle team who haven't found much consistency this term.

Chelsea have emerged as genuine Champions League hopefuls and their vibrant attack should find enough holes in Southampton's defence to leave St Mary's with all three points.

Arsenal are well and truly back on track having secured three comprehensive victories on the bounce. The Gunners were clinical in their rout at the London Stadium and, while Ruben Amorim oversaw his first league win as Manchester United head coach against Everton, should continue their recent streak with another victory at the Emirates Stadium in one of two 20:15 games.

Another fascinating duel arrives at Villa Park. Aston Villa have slipped down to 12th having failed to win a league game since mid-October and Brentford are hardly ideal opponents to face while looking to end their barren run. While the Bees have the strongest home record in 2024/25, Thomas Frank's outfit are yet to win on the road.

Thursday 5 December

The midweek action concludes on Thursday, kicking off at Craven Cottage where Fulham host high-flying Brighton & Hove Albion. The Seagulls were held by Southampton on Friday night but may fancy their chances of victory in west London against a Cottagers team that nicked a point off Tottenham Hotspur last time out.

Tottenham have the second-best goal difference in the division but keep slipping up after rousing results. They could definitely win at Bournemouth if they show up, but the Cherries ran riot against Wolves and could put Spurs to the sword if Ange Postecoglou's troops aren't careful.
