Arsenal are happy to let one player in particular leave the club in the January transfer window.
The upcoming January window will be a vitally important one for Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.
The Gunners manager needs to make one or two top quality signings, if he is to guide his side to major honours this season.
The Arsenal squad is quite clearly not strong enough to challenge on all fronts this season.
However, before any new signings can be brought in, Arteta may well have to move on some of the deadwood first and foremost.
And one player in particular seems to be destined to leave the Gunners over the course of the next month or two.
According to a report from Italian publication Corriere del Mezzogiorno (print edition December 18th, page 11), it’s now looking likely that Jakub Kiwior will leave the Emirates when the winter window opens.
And Serie A giants Napoli are reportedly keen to sign the Polish centre-back.
The 24-year-old’s agent is apparently trying to force his client out of Arsenal.
And selling him will 100 per cent be the correct thing to do for the Gunners – Kiwior has proven time and time against that he’s not good enough to play in the Premier League.
The defender joined the north London outfit from Spezia in the winter of 2023, but things certainly haven’t gone swimmingly for him since then.
He’s a decent player, but he’s not at the elite level that Arsenal need in order to make genuine progress.
Arteta obviously brought Jakub Kiwior to Arsenal with one eye on the future, in the hope that he would reach the required levels.
That clearly hasn’t happened though, and Kiwior leaving the London Stadium in January will be in everyone’s best interest.
