Barcelona have enjoyed a fine start to life under Hansi Flick this season, having already won the Spanish Super Cup while being strong contenders for La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.

The Blaugrana have also made it to the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey, where they will face Atletico Madrid in a two-legged tie.

The Catalans have done so while playing an attractive, attacking brand of football, with the attacking trident of Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, and Lamine Yamal thriving.

Rivaldo tips Barcelona for the treble

Given how things have gone so far for the team, former Barcelona superstar and Brazilian legend Rivaldo has claimed that the Blaugrana can dream of winning the treble this season.

“Of course, we can dream of all three titles. At the beginning of the season, it would have been more difficult to see it, but now the team is in a great moment,” noted Rivaldo, as quoted by SPORT.

“In La Liga, there is a certain disadvantage, and the semi-final against Atletico in the Copa will be complicated, but Barça have the potential to win everything.”

Praise for Raphinha and Lewandowski

Rivaldo also reserved huge praise for Barcelona captain Raphinha, who is enjoying a sensational campaign thus far. The former Ballon d’Or winner tipped his compatriot to win the award, while stating that the winger reminds him of himself.

“He is already among the best in Europe and if he wins titles with Barça, he will have more chances. In some moves I see myself reflected in the way he plays,” said Rivaldo.

Continuing, he added: “Yes, I think he reminds me a bit of me, but mainly because of his personality. On the pitch, he is a confident player, who has understood his role and plays with confidence.

“Last season he had some difficult moments, alternating between the bench and the starting line-up, but now, with that confidence, he is happy, comfortable and assuming his role as captain.”

Rivaldo also highlighted the figure of Lewandowski, who he sees in a great moment. Even so, the legend would not see it as a bad thing for the club to sign a replacement for him considering his age and the demands of the calendar.

“‘If there is the option of signing a big reinforcement, he could be fundamental for long competitions and with a heavy calendar. Having a reserve ‘9’ is fundamental, because unforeseen things can happen,” he explained.

“Imagine if Lewandowski gets injured or fatigued. That’s a lot of games. You have to have alternatives.”
