Vinicius Jr .has unquestionably established himself as one of Real Madrid’s standout players. His remarkable talent is matched by his ability to make a difference in every match, and his numbers this season speak for themselves.

In 26 games, he has netted 16 goals and provided 10 assists, contributing to a goal or assist in every match.

However, his absence from the squad has become a recurring challenge. Due to injuries and suspensions, Vinicius has missed eight matches so far.

His absence has tested the team, but over time, Real Madrid have adapted to playing without one of its star players.

Although the initial period without him was tough, especially in terms of results, coach Carlo Ancelotti has managed to find a way to make the team function without Vinicius.

Madrid struggled initially

Vinicius’ first major absence came at the end of November and into early December when he suffered a muscle injury. During this period, he missed four matches, with Real Madrid experiencing two defeats as well as two victories.

After recovering and returning to action, Vinicius was once again left out of the squad for a match against Sevilla, which Real Madrid won comfortably.

Later, Vinicius faced two suspensions. One was a two-match ban in La Liga and the other was a Champions League suspension for accumulating yellow cards. As a result, Vinicius has now missed eight games this season.

They have now adapted

Despite these absences, Real Madrid’s performance has not suffered as much as one might expect.

In fact, the team has adjusted well to life without the Brazilian winger, with improved attacking stats and Kylian Mbappe and Rodrygo stepping up as the team’s leaders.

When comparing Real Madrid’s performance with and without Vinicius, there is a slight difference in the team’s winning percentage.

With Vinicius on the pitch, the team boasts a winning percentage of 70.4%, with 19 wins, four draws, and four losses in 27 games.

Without him, this record improves to 75%, with six wins and only two losses in eight matches. This highlights that although Vinicius is an irreplaceable talent, Real Madrid have still managed to thrive in his absence.
