Ange Postecoglou says he hopes to welcome back “a lot” of players over the next couple of weeks.

Spurs have been decimated by injuries this season and are still without several key players ahead of their match with Brentford on Sunday.

Radu Dragusin became the latest player to pick up a problem and was forced off in the Europa League win over Elfsborg.

Postecoglou confirmed he would miss this weekend’s game but is unsure of the severity of the injury.

“It’s hard to tell,” he said.

“We’ll let it settle down but it’s always a concern when it’s a knee injury so we’ll just have to see.”

Guglielmo Vicario, Brennan Johnson, Destiny Udogie, Wilson Odobert and Timo Werner also remain out but Postecoglou says he is hoping to have them back in the next ten days or so.

“They’re all kind of around the same time, around ten days’ time,” he said.

Cristian Romero is also close to a return but the Spurs boss stressed his recovery is “trickier” than the others and could take longer to make a comeback.

“Romero is a bit of a tricky one, we’re not really sure yet, there’s still some work he needs to do,” he said.

“It’s just a slow healer. We’re looking at it on a week-to-week basis. He’s been out for quite a while.”

Dominic Solanke, meanwhile, is a couple of weeks’ away from making a comeback after suffering a knee injury.

Postecoglou was dealt a boost on Thursday with Micky Van de Ven returning from his long injury lay-off.

The defender played 45 minutes against Elfsborg but Postecoglou stressed he is not yet ready to play an entire 90 minutes.

“Probably not 90 because of the short turnaround but he felt really good last night and it’s great to have him out there.

“You know he’s a good player but you don’t realise how good which I guess is the case for quite a lot of our players who have been missing for quite a while.

“The idea is to get him some more game time and build up his minutes over the weekend.”
