Two of the Premier League’s leading clubs are keeping a close eye on developments surrounding the future of Barcelona star Lamine Yamal.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Liverpool and Manchester City as the sides in question.

Lamine, for his part, remains locked in ongoing contract talks with the Barcelona brass.

Despite an agreement having long been in place for the Spanish international to renew his terms upon turning 18 later this year, Lamine’s entourage are already seeking out an improved offer.

Owing to his prominence in Hansi Flick’s squad, the feeling is that the winger is deserving of pay parity with the Blaugrana’s highest earners.

This is a train of thought shared by those behind the scenes at the Camp Nou, ready to pay up to keep hold of world football’s standout young talent.

As alluded to above, though, whilst talks between the parties continue in the boardroom in Catalunya’s capital, lying in wait are both Liverpool, and Manchester City.

‘Manchester City and Liverpool are continuing to monitor Lamine’s situation in the hope of signing him, although they know the player has made it clear that his priority is to stay at Barcelona.’
