1,000 ticketless Aston Villa fans are expected in Paris tomorrow for the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final encounter against Paris Saint-Germain, according to L’Équipe.

Tickets for the match have now sold out, as per L’Équipe. Around 2,000 Aston Villa fans are expected inside the Parc des Princes for the first leg. However, an extra 1,000 fans are expected to be in the city for the game. They will follow the game from pubs and bars across Paris. Within this group of 1,000 ticketless fans, 150 are deemed “risky” by the French police.

As a result, and despite no animosity between the two sets of fans, the game has been ranked three on a scale of five (five being the highest) by the National Division in the Fight Against Hooliganism, which means that there is “the risk of trouble”. It is the high quantity of ticketless fans that has led to this judgment by French authorities.
