As has been reported over the past week, FC Barcelona have finalised agreements with a Qatari company and a Dubai-based firm from the United Arab Emirates for a combined value of approximately €100 million.

These deals pertain to the usage rights of a significant, though unspecified, number of VIP seats at the future Spotify Camp Nou.

Details of the agreement

As per Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have not sold the VIP seats to the aforementioned entities for the €100 million sum.

Instead, the agreements grant the investors rights to use these seats for 20 years, allowing them to generate profit from their use.

However, this arrangement does not preclude Barcelona from continuing to receive an annual payment of around €25,000 per seat per season.

This structure enables Barcelona to secure the €100 million upfront without jeopardising future earnings.

The club will still collect the high annual fee for each seat throughout the agreement’s duration. This innovative approach provides immediate financial relief while safeguarding long-term income.

Barcelona are not the first football club to adopt this model. Real Madrid previously entered a similar agreement for the exploitation of certain VIP boxes at their stadium. That deal, which spans 30 years, was worth less than €100 million.

According to reports earlier today, Barça are still waiting on a payment of €28 million from their new partners which is needed for La Liga to approve the operation, allowing the club to return to the 1:1 rule and possibly register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor.
